Stories Alive uses a small number of outside services to store your account and to generate stories, songs, pictures, worksheets and videos. This page names every one of them, what each receives, and where each company and its servers are located. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
The short version
- Your account and everything you create are stored in Sydney, Australia.
- The servers that run Stories Alive are in Singapore.
- When you ask for something to be generated, the request (your prompt and any pictures it needs) goes to an AI service to produce it. Most of these companies are in the United States.
- We do not use advertising trackers or analytics tools, and we do not sell your information.
- Please do not put children's names, photos of children, or photos of children's work into prompts or uploads.

2. AI for writing
These write stories, lyrics, lessons, worksheets and Lucy's replies. They receive the text of your request and, where needed, a picture to look at.
OpenRouter
Main writing service
Passes requests to the AI model doing the work, mainly Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini. Google's Lyria music model is also reached this way.

3. AI for pictures, video, voice and music
These create illustrations, animations, narration and songs. They receive a description of what to make and, where needed, a reference picture or audio.

Storybook pages, characters, album art and videos. Reference pictures are uploaded to Kie's file host first.

Some steps, such as removing picture backgrounds, matching lyrics to music and editing video, run on our own servers and are not sent to an outside service.
